Unveiling Secret of Nerve health by Belly Button Oiling
Navel structure and its connection to the nervous system through the abdominal cavity.
The Umbilicus (commonly known as Navel or Belly button) is a hollow area which is either protruding or looks flat or can be seen in many as a depressed area on the abdomen. If, we talk about the anatomy of human body, then umbilical region is taken as the 5th quadrant of abdominal region of our body which can be considered as the central region of our abdomen. The nerve supply for the skin around the navel is the 10th Thoracic spinal nerve which helps in the normal functioning of the lower body part like lower abdomen, legs, back, etc. The positioning of the umbilicus or navel could be between 3rd Lumbar vertebrae and 5th Lumbar vertebrae, which can be varied in person to person.
The navel is an area rich in blood vessels and nerve endings, making it an effective site for absorption of nutrients and beneficial compounds.
According to one study, where they had dissected 16 fresh cadavers and done the radiographic studies on their specimens. They found that the umbilicus or navel gets the arterial blood inflow from three different deeper sources along with its subdermal plexus. 1. These are two inferior epigastric arteries (left and right) which branches off into various smaller branches. 2. Ligamentum teres hepaticum which is the remnant of the left umbilical vein and turns out to be a dense fibrous band of ligament in adults. 3. Median umbilical ligament is the remnant of the embryonic urachus which is attached to the apex of bladder to the anterior wall of abdomen. The two are the remnant of left umbilical vein and embryonic urachus means that these structures were working differently when the foetus or the baby in the womb was not born. But, now when he has grown into an adult then, it works differently or is like a remnant of that structure.
Massaging your navel with oils may stimulate nerve endings in the abdomen, promoting better nerve function and communication throughout the body.
As, I have already discussed about the arterial inflow of the belly button. Hence, the nourishment provided to the belly button can reach to various target area depending upon the type of oil used. You can choose accordingly, if you need to provide nourishment to your eyes try to apply cow ghee or cow ghee containing belly button oil. If you want to get rid of any inflammation in the joints then, you can use ginger, castor oil containing one.
All you need to care is - don’t mix the oils together. So, use one belly button oil at a time rather, than mixing it and if you get any unwanted conditions or effects then, discard its use for a while. And, try to rule out the reason behind the conditions by taking care of your diet and lifestyle changes; as many number of times these can be the real reason behind your condition.
